#Talent – Referral Bonus Validation Process Changes

Dear HR community,

We hope this note finds you well!

As some of you know, we have been working on revamping our Referral Program, focused on three key dimensions:

  • simplifying our process
  • boosting the program’s attractiveness
  • ensuring we have a single point of accountability

As a result, please find below (and attached) the changes to the program:

  • The referral bonus validation task in iPeople will transition from the Compensation & Benefits team to the Primary Recruiter (=TA partners or HR Recruiter)
    • Rationale: the Primary Recruiter has a better view of the candidates referred vs. the C&B team
    • Process change: see attached for the updated process workflow in iPeople, including a screen shot of the required task you will now see. HR admin (HR Shared Service where available) will initiate > Primary Recruiter will approve or decline the referral bonus request according to eligibility guidelines > HR admin will implement and send it to payroll.
  • The referral bonus will be paid at the “starting date” of the successful referred candidate (vs end of the trial period).
    • Rationale: the referee should be rewarded right after the recruitment is finalized.
    • Process change: bonus validation at “Start date” vs. end of trial period
  • Guidelines:
    • With a goal of alignment and simplification:
      • If you already have a local policy in place: please check if it’s well aligned with the template attached and please share it for us to record them all together.
      • If you don’t have any and would like to have one referral policy: please reach out to me for support on coordination the definition and implementation in your country!
    • For your information: Referral bonus amounts are defined in partnership with C&B, based on local benchmarks and can be reviewed regularly.

These changes will be applicable as of January 1st.

On a final note, we all know that internal referrals generally yield great candidates, please make sure you remind your managers and teams about the updated program!

    will HR Admin see the referring employee’s name when proceeding the hire process of the referree in iPeople? if not, how can HR Admin know they need initiate the referral bonus request?
