I am pleased to announce that Shuba Gopal will join the North America Human Resources Team on January 11th, as Head of People Analytics, reporting to me. In this role, Shuba will leverage data to drive innovation and implement effective solutions to enhance our organizational agility. She will be located in Cambridge.

Shuba’s experience and capabilities draw on her background as a data scientist, and she now applies those approaches to questions about people and organizations.  Her work includes developing novel algorithms and statistical methods to support high employee engagement, diverse hiring practices, and increasing perceived inclusion in the workplace. Her interests include developing novel approaches to answer questions related to equity, diversity, and inclusion among underrepresented populations in biomedical science (e.g., women, persons with disabilities, certain race/ethnicities).

Prior to Ipsen, Shuba was a Senior People Scientist at the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT. Her work includes characterizing equity and diversity, using approaches drawn from computational biology (permutation testing, correlation analysis, survival analysis, etc), as well as exploring patterns related to inclusion, belonging, and recognition in employee engagement data.

She earned her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and her Ph.D. in computational genomics from Rockefeller University.

Please join me in welcoming Shuba and wishing her success in her new position.

SVP, Human Resources, North America, and Global R&D, Business Development and Talent Acquisition
