Ipsen’s ESG philosophy, “Generation Ipsen”, is structured around four pillars (Patients, Employees, Environment, Governance) and guided by clearly defined objectives that help us focus on initiatives that will have the greatest impact on society. This philosophy touches every aspect of our business and allows every Ipsen employee to play a role in creating a positive impact.
- Patients
In 2021, Ipsen adjusted its strategy to focus on specialty pharmaceuticals, concentrating on three therapeutic areas: oncology, rare diseases, and neuroscience.
After the transformation, Ipsen is deeply committed to the China market and, with original mission of Patient Centricity, continues to invest in its R&D pipeline and supply chain to ensure continuous support for patients. At the same time, with the support of the local government and by strengthening the public healthcare environment, Ipsen is committed to improving the accessibility of its innovative products to more patients.
With continuous efforts, diseases covered by Ipsen’s rare disease product pipeline have been included in the 2nd Batch of RDL, which will be jointly issued by six departments, including the Healthcare Commission, in 2023. This will encourage the launch of new therapies in China and improve affordability for patients, and at the same time, it also confirms Ipsen’s exploration and breakthroughs in the field of specialty drugs as a company full of sense of responsibility and mission.
- People
During the transformation process, Ipsen employees were driven by a strong sense of mission to develop and explore their own strengths in order to successfully push forward the implementation of medicines and therapeutic programs that meet patients’ needs and bring breakthroughs to patients. Ipsen’s employees have demonstrated the execution, purpose driven, tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit, which has helped the company break through and smoothly transform its specialty drug business into a new stage of development.
Meanwhile, as a 100-year-old French biopharmaceutical company, the sustainable development of an enterprise should not only focus on its own sustained, stable and healthy development, but also create a collaborative, diversified and inclusive working environment, as well as dedicate to the development and cultivation of talents, which will be the determining factor for the enterprise to obtain long-term resilient development. Ipsen believes that whether you come from Generation X, Y or Z, we are all Generation Ipsen who create impact!
