Dear all,

Following the success of the 2 first events: International Women’s Day in March, and Pride Month in June, we are pleased to announce our last DEI event of 2022: Disability Awareness Month. Running from the 14th November to the 9th December 2022, the month encompasses both the European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities (SEEPH: 14th November – 19th November) and the International Day of People with Disability (3rd December).

So, what is the Ipsen Disability Awareness Month about?

The key theme of the month is INVISIBILITY – (Un)seen. (Un)heard. (Un)said, which is designed to raise awareness of people who:

  • Live with invisible disabilities;
  • Feel invisible as a person as a result of a visible disability;
  • Are invisible patients,

In order that they can feel seen, heard, and that those experiences can be talked about.

And what is planned during the month?

  • To understand what and why:
    • Opening video from ELT
    • Animation video with disability definitions
  • To explore the patient’s perspective*:
    • FOP stand
    • Spasticity talk
    • Patient videos
  • Lives touched by disability:
    • Employees testimonials
    • Fondation Ipsen talks
      • James Levine: Move it! How movement unites people
      • Yannick Tanguy: How to talk about rare diseases & disability
    • External speakers:
      • Gaelle Edon, paralympic athlete
      • Dr Hannah Barham-Brown, Roll Model
      • Margot Turcat Mon Petit AVC

  • SEEPH Duo Day
